A Cloudflare Case Study
Poki is a leading web games platform serving more than 30 million monthly users and 1.1 million hours of play per day. Because loading times directly affect play rates and revenue, Poki needed to bring games and assets closer to a globally distributed audience, offload origin servers, and fix unresolved edge-communication issues it was experiencing with a previous CDN provider.
Poki moved image and game-file delivery, on-the-fly image resizing, and HTML serving to Cloudflare, using Image Resizing to deliver device-optimized images and Argo Smart Routing to accelerate uncached dynamic content. The result was significant download-speed improvements worldwide—especially in South America—lower latency by serving from the fastest edges, and better user engagement and monetization from faster-loading games.
