A Cloudflare Case Study
Godwin Heights Public School District is a small K–12 district near Grand Rapids, Michigan, serving four campuses and many socioeconomically disadvantaged students. The district faced persistent, often student‑driven DDoS attacks that repeatedly knocked schools offline, disrupted classrooms and standardized testing, and left IT staff reliant on slow, ineffective ISP mitigation while teachers prepared paper backups.
After deploying Cloudflare Magic Transit, the district saw immediate protection—hundreds of large attacks were blocked within the first two weeks with no manual tuning required. Magic Transit kept the network online through the shift to hybrid learning during COVID‑19, eliminated the need for offline lesson backups, provided regular incident reporting, and gave staff the peace of mind to focus on education rather than attack mitigation.
