Cloudflare Magic Transit gives Dewaweb continuous real-time protection against frequent DDoS attacks

Dewaweb is an Indonesian cloud hosting provider serving more than 55,000 businesses with domains, cloud hosting, VPS, backup, SSL and managed services; the company is ISO 27001 certified and offers 24/7 support with a 100% uptime SLA. During the COVID-19 pandemic Dewaweb faced a sharp rise in frequent L3/L4 DDoS attacks, and its in‑house detection and mitigation processes were slow and labor‑intensive—taking hours or days and harming productivity and customer experience.

In March 2021 Dewaweb deployed Cloudflare Magic Transit, a cloud‑based Anycast solution that protects entire IP subnets and mitigates attacks at the edge; it stopped a 400 Mbps attack almost instantly. Over three months Magic Transit blocked 10,228 packets from 2,575 attacks, helping Dewaweb maintain its SLA and ISO 27001 compliance, reduce costs versus hardware appliances, and free engineers to focus on services rather than continuous DDoS mitigation.
