Cloudflare helps PropertyGuru block bad bots, reduce latency and improve rankings

PropertyGuru is Southeast Asia’s leading online property marketplace, serving nearly 35 million monthly users and over 2.8 million listings across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam. As market leader it was heavily targeted by scraper bots that strained infrastructure, increased bandwidth costs, damaged its reputation when competitors republished stale listings, and left the company needing a consolidated, easier-to-manage solution for bot management, CDN, WAF and image optimization with better analytics and fewer false positives.

PropertyGuru deployed Cloudflare’s CDN, WAF, Bot Management and Cloudflare Workers to protect and accelerate its sites. The move cut malicious bot traffic roughly in half with very low false positives, the WAF blocks about 23 million threats monthly for the Singapore site, and Workers dynamically optimize images to lower latency and improve page speeds (notably in Indonesia), helping listings rank higher on Google; the solution proved cost-effective, easy to manage, and backed by actionable analytics and strong support.
