A Cloudflare Case Study
PagesJaunes, a major French digital directory operated by Solocal (serving 314,000 customers and 2.4 billion annual visits), needed to strengthen security and performance after migrating most on‑premises systems to the cloud. The company faced large‑scale scraping and DDoS attacks, had to protect sensitive directory data for GDPR compliance, and experienced slow page loads—particularly from overseas territories—so it searched for a single solution covering both security and speed.
Following a PoC, PagesJaunes implemented Cloudflare’s CDN, WAF, DDoS protection, Workers and Argo, offloading caching, DNS and certificate management and simplifying admin tasks. The deployment cut Solocal’s infrastructure bandwidth needs by about 70%, blocked millions of attacks each month, improved access times, and enabled rapid rollout of localized directories to support merchants during the 2020 health crisis.
