Cloudflare helps drive the digital transformation of Trusted Media Brands

Trusted Media Brands, publisher of Reader’s Digest, Taste of Home, and Family Handyman, set out to transform from a print-focused publisher to a digital-first media company serving 33 million monthly visitors. Their challenge was delivering high-quality, mostly evergreen content with exceptional page speed and edge control—existing CDN infrastructure lacked the customizability and caching behavior needed, and newsletter-driven traffic often forced cache bypasses.

By deploying Cloudflare Workers, along with Cloudflare’s cache, WAF and Rate Limiting, the team implemented logic to serve cached pages to the vast majority of users while only routing unique requests to origin. The result: 95–98% of content served from cache, sites loading four times faster, significant bandwidth and infrastructure savings, improved resilience during outages, and effective protection against malicious bots.
