A Cloudflare Case Study
Bitpanda is a fast‑growing Vienna‑based fintech (founded 2014) with over 2 million users that makes investing in stocks, crypto and metals easy for everyone. As the company scaled, it faced increasingly frequent and severe automated attacks — including DDoS, API scanning and credential‑stuffing — that degraded performance and risked customer account takeovers.
Bitpanda migrated from Cloudflare’s free plan to Enterprise and adopted Cloudflare Access, WAF, Rate Limiting, Page Rules and DNS protection to implement a Zero Trust posture. The result: major DDoS and automated attacks are mitigated, VPN overhead was eliminated, visibility and granular access control improved, and engineers can focus on product development rather than security incident response.
