Bitfly is a blockchain technology firm that builds a blockchain "browser" for exploring cryptocurrency data and a proprietary tool for mining pools. Because its core product runs over TCP and uses arbitrary ports, Bitfly faced escalating DDoS attacks and outages that conventional hosting couldn’t reliably prevent.

Bitfly migrated through Cloudflare’s plans and deployed Cloudflare Spectrum to extend Cloudflare’s DDoS mitigation to TCP-based services (beyond typical HTTP protection). The result: reliable protection for TCP traffic and improved uptime and security for its mining-pool operations.
