How the San Diego Padres Ballpark Ops Team Builds for the Future with ClickUp

The San Diego Padres’ Ballpark Operations team, led by Ken Kawachi, needed a better way to track mission‑critical projects, capital expenditures and game‑day workflows after relying on spreadsheets and a patchwork of tools. With multiple departments to coordinate and the pressure to report progress up to the CEO—especially on major initiatives like suite renovations—the Padres turned to ClickUp’s productivity and project management platform to regain visibility and reduce meeting and follow‑up overhead.

ClickUp was implemented across the organization (60+ users) to centralize work with Dashboards, Custom Fields, Custom Statuses, Tags and the mobile app, enabling real‑time coordination on game days and project budget tracking (budget vs. actual with variance formulas). The result: streamlined meetings and reporting, higher user adoption, empowered employees, and dozens of capital projects kept on track— including 75 suite renovation projects being monitored in ClickUp—by giving the Padres a single, organization‑wide platform.
