Walmart launched seasonal Gift and Toy Finder tools to maximize holiday sales but needed to ensure customers could find and use them without friction. The challenge was to optimize the Christmas shopping page for discoverability and usability, diagnose points of confusion in the buying journey, and eliminate technical issues that were frustrating customers.
Clicktale’s analysis—using segmentation, scroll-reach heatmaps and session playbacks—showed Finder users drove a 24% lift in sales, revealed that 20% of visitors never scrolled to the tools, and exposed usability confusion and a JavaScript error on the “Go” button. Implementing fixes for discoverability, UX clarity and the client-side error improved interactions and strengthened the effectiveness of the holiday campaign.
