Welsh Water - Customer Case Study

Welsh Water, the regulated water and sewerage provider serving over three million people across Wales, faced fragmented travel booking and limited visibility of spend across a large programme of predominantly hotel and rail travel (71% rail). The organisation needed a structured hotel policy, reliable offline support and better control of booking behaviour to reduce time and cost across its operations and secure corporate rates in high‑volume locations such as Cardiff, Swansea and London.

Click Travel implemented its online booking tool with a six‑step rollout and supported users via an experienced offline reservations and account management team, plus annual hotel RFPs and ongoing reporting. The programme delivered strong adoption and optimisation — 94% online adoption, an average rail lead time of 12 days, rate‑capped rooms booked on average £25 under caps, over £9k saved in fares and £76k of further actionable savings identified — with policy compliance at 96% and meetings & events now also managed through Click.
