Kitabisa Achieves Boost in Donations and Increased User Stickiness with CleverTap

Kitabisa, Indonesia’s largest donation platform, connects more than 7 million donors with 200,000 campaigns, 3,000 NGOs and 300 CSR initiatives. Facing a diverse donor base, the team needed automated segmentation to reduce manual complexity, enable timely wallet reminders, build personalized donor journeys to boost engagement and retention, and run a Ramadan campaign to encourage routine giving.

To address this, Kitabisa implemented CleverTap in 2019 and used smart segmentation (past donations, frequency, favored causes, demographics), live user segments for automated wallet reminders, intent-based segmentation to re-engage low-intent users, Liquid Tag personalization, and Journeys for Ramadan automation. The campaign drove measurable gains: a 33% increase in median donations per user, a 10% lift in average CTR for push and in-app notifications, and a 5% increase in user stickiness.
