How Booky Saw a 36% Increase in Open Rates with Email Add-on

Booky is a Philippines-born restaurant discovery and booking app that grew into a lifestyle platform serving over a million users and partnering with 4,000+ merchants. As their user base and services expanded, they struggled to scale their marketing automation: limited automated journeys prevented lifecycle and upsell communication, and an erroneous email blast severely damaged deliverability—cutting open rates in half—so they needed better domain health and a platform that could power personalized, cross-channel campaigns.

In October 2019 Booky moved to CleverTap and implemented deliverability consultations (monthly reports, IP warm-up and configuration, Google Postmaster guidance), enhanced onboarding, the Advanced Email Add-on, A/B testing, omnichannel journeys, and behavioral analytics. These changes restored domain and IP reputation, enabled automated, location- and lifecycle-driven upsell campaigns, and drove a material lift in engagement—Booky reported a 36% increase in email open rates and stronger conversion from targeted journeys.
