India’s leading private-sector bank, which relaunched its mobile app in 2020 to offer 250+ banking and payment services, needed to grow traffic to product pages, increase revenue through cross-selling, and identify pain points causing user drop-off. The mobile marketing team sought a tailored Next Best Offer approach and better analytics to deliver the right product to the right user at the right time.
After a year-long proof of concept they selected CleverTap to power Journeys, in-app interstitial and footer notifications, and an NBO model that recommends products (promoting 5–6 per user per month and 22 products to 7M+ users). They implemented multi-day drop-off campaigns and used funnels, trends, and pivots for deep behavioral insights. Results: in-app campaigns grew from 1% to 25% of total traffic (a 2,400% increase), fixed-deposit conversions rose 4x, and the bank saw a 10–12% overall business uplift.
