Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, a busy Birmingham practice serving about 280–350 patients daily, sought to streamline front- and back-office workflows, shorten long wait times, reduce redundant paperwork, and cut down on claim rejections caused by patient data errors. To address these challenges they partnered with Clearwave and deployed Clearwave kiosks and its integration with their practice management system to provide real-time eligibility checks and point-of-service functionality.
Clearwave’s solution let patients self-check-in, pay copays and outstanding balances at kiosks, and immediately flag data errors for staff follow-up, which improved collections and claim accuracy. As a result, Clearwave helped Andrews achieve a roughly 90% reduction in check-in time (down to an average of 2:30), 99% patient utilization of kiosks, growth from 6 to 11 kiosks, and thousands of monthly eligibility checks—dramatically reducing rejected and returned claims and improving the overall patient experience.
