A Clearwave Case Study
East Alabama Health (EAH) is a regional health system offering ambulatory and acute care that wanted to modernize patient engagement and speed up check-in while still capturing required registration data and integrating with its Cerner EMR. Already using Clearwave’s insurance verification, EAH evaluated and selected Clearwave’s registration kiosks, mobile check-in and pre-registration solutions to deliver a faster, more patient-friendly intake process.
Clearwave implemented self-service kiosks, mobile pre-check-in, a tightened Cerner integration and automated reminders (voice, text, email), driving a dramatic reduction in wait times—from 20–30 minutes to just over 2 minutes on average (a 90% decrease). Measured results include EAMC average check-in 2:20 and express 1:36, and EAMG 1:46 and 1:14, with improved patient satisfaction and administrative efficiency enabled by Clearwave’s ongoing partnership and support.
