How The Salvation Army Increased Mobile Donation Revenue by 246% With Digital Wallets

The Salvation Army USA, which has used Classy across its chapters since 2018, aimed to improve mobile giving by offering a faster, more efficient mobile checkout. To address this, the National Headquarters rolled out digital wallets on its Classy donation page in fall 2020.

Pairing digital wallets with Classy’s roll-up reporting and a customized program designation on donation forms streamlined the donor experience and reporting for local units. The result: 246% year-over-year growth in mobile donation revenue in 2020, $6.3M more raised between Oct–Dec 2020 versus the same period in 2019 (and $9.7M more YoY), plus a 3% increase in global donation completion rate.
