How First Book Uses Classy for Salesforce to Target Donors

First Book, a nonprofit founded in 1992 that connects more than 375,000 educators and program leaders serving children from low-income families, faced a fragmented fundraising tech stack and rapid growth (about 1,000 new educators per week). With fundraising split between offline and online peer-to-peer activity, the organization needed a scalable, 360-degree view of supporters and more personalized outreach without overburdening staff.

First Book adopted Classy and is integrating Classy for Salesforce—along with Magento, Pardot, and the NPSP—through a phased implementation with partner Coastal Cloud. The integration created a single donor repository, streamlined reporting and reconciliation of online/offline gifts, and enabled targeted, personalized communications, improving donor engagement and ensuring the fundraising system scales securely with their growth.
