A CivicPlus Case Study
West Valley City, a rapidly growing and culturally diverse suburb of Salt Lake City, faced ongoing challenges with citizen communication and engagement as its legacy website—maintained in‑house—became outdated and difficult for staff to update. To modernize their online presence and streamline outreach, West Valley City selected CivicPlus and adopted the CivicEngage platform, including the NotifyMe feature for targeted resident notifications.
CivicPlus delivered two redesigns and a modern, mobile‑friendly CivicEngage site with easy-to-use editing tools and modules like Document Center and Archive Center, enabling immediate updates and better content organization. As a result, the city now directs most communications to a single hub, has seen increased public engagement (especially from police and fire departments), and residents actively sign up for NotifyMe lists and promptly report any missed updates—demonstrating improved reach and responsiveness through CivicPlus.
