Vineyard, UT Scaled its Code of Ordinances Processes with CivicPlus®

Vineyard, UT, one of the fastest-growing cities in the U.S., needed a better way to update and manage its code of ordinances as the community expanded. Its staff struggled to access, search, and correct conflicting ordinance information, and some older records were even stored offsite in a potato cellar. Vineyard turned to CivicPlus and its Self-Publishing Software for codification.

CivicPlus implemented Self-Publishing Software to streamline drafting, editing, voting, signing, scanning, and publishing in one system. The result was easier online management and public access to the code of ordinances, improved searchability, and greater transparency through online legislative history. The upgrade also helped support the city clerk’s recognition as Utah Clerks Municipal Association’s “Recorder of the Year” in 2018.
