The City of Ramsey, Minnesota’s Parks & Recreation Department needed a faster, resident-friendly way to handle facility reservations and event registrations. Its small staff was spending 24 to 30 hours a week on the phone coordinating bookings with manual documentation and Outlook calendars, especially during peak seasons, so the city turned to CivicPlus and its Recreation Management Software.
CivicPlus implemented a self-service recreation management solution integrated with the city’s website, with online reservations, class registration, and payment processing. The result was a major reduction in phone volume and call time, giving staff back hours for other work while allowing residents to book at any time; the city also reported positive feedback after moving registrations into the CivicPlus system and benefiting from easier refunds and a more centralized process.
