Plano, TX - Streamlines Communication Processes Through CivicPlus' CMS

The City of Plano was managing a cluttered, hard-to-update website built on a document management platform that left its marketing team and in-house developers stretched thin and non-technical staff unable to publish content—with 28 departments competing for homepage space. To address these challenges, Plano partnered with CivicPlus and adopted CivicPlus’ CMS to modernize its online communications and simplify content management.

CivicPlus implemented a new site in 2012 and delivered a further streamlined redesign in 2014 that made the site much easier to maintain, enabled non-technical staff across departments to enter and update content, and reorganized global navigation into user-focused categories while highlighting events, news, social feeds, and video. The CivicPlus solution improved consistency and editorial agility for the City of Plano and generated very positive reactions from both citizens and city staff.
