Manistee, Michigan Redesigns City Website with its Partner, CivicPlus

The City of Manistee needed a refreshed municipal website that better reflected the community and made it easier for citizens to find information quickly, especially for planning, zoning, and meeting materials. Working with CivicPlus and its CivicEngage content management system, the city also wanted more control over content updates, improved navigation, and a mobile-friendly experience.

CivicPlus redesigned the site to streamline page structure, consolidate related content, and support document management and embedded video features like beach and harbor webcams. The result was a more modern, user-friendly website that made information easier to find, reduced the number of clicks needed, and allowed staff to update content more efficiently. Citizens responded positively, and the site also helped support the city’s Redevelopment Ready Communities certification, with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation citing it as a strong example of a well-maintained, user-friendly municipal website.
