Jefferson County, CO Holds Usability Tests & Builds Responsive Website

Jefferson County, Colorado needed to modernize its outdated civic website to better serve a growing, tech-savvy population and many smartphone users. The county wanted a mobile-responsive site with improved navigation, stronger self-service, and more efficient use of its budget, so it partnered with CivicPlus and its Municipal Websites CMS.

CivicPlus helped Jefferson County launch a new responsive website and supported the redesign with usability testing involving about 200 staff and citizens to validate navigation, content, and design choices. The county also rolled out a broad communications campaign for the launch, which drove 100,000 more visits than average in the first three days, with mostly positive feedback from users.
