A CivicPlus Case Study
Howey-in-the-Hills, a small Florida town with an active resident community, was spending too much time and money on manual clerical tasks, especially agenda creation, packet preparation, and ordinance codification. The town also needed a simpler way to engage residents and make local information easy to find, while avoiding cumbersome record and public-request processes. CivicPlus helped through Agenda and Meeting Management, Municipal Website, Municode Codification, and Social Media Archiving.
CivicPlus implemented an integrated platform that automated agenda and packet workflows, connected ordinance updates directly to online code hosting, and improved website access and search across meetings, code, and town content. The results included major staff time savings, better collaboration, faster public access to newly adopted code, and reduced public-record requests. The town also estimated savings of at least $25,200 per year in printing costs, while residents gained quicker access to services and more transparent information.
