The Port of Seattle, WA was struggling to manage a broad volume of public records requests, from simple inquiries to complex multi-part cases. Its old process relied heavily on email, CDs, and flash drives, making response handling cumbersome. The Port turned to CivicPlus’ NextRequest FOIA software to modernize its records request workflow.
CivicPlus implemented NextRequest to process, manage, and track the Port’s public records requests, including those from the Port Police Department. The new platform greatly reduced email use and the need to send documents on CDs and flash drives, improving efficiency in records request response management and helping the Port handle hundreds of requests each year more effectively.
