Cranberry Township Uses MobileAdmin App to Alert Citizens of Traffic Hazards When Out of the Office

Cranberry Township, a Pittsburgh suburb of about 28,000 residents situated at the busy junction of I-79 and the Pennsylvania Turnpike, needed a reliable way to warn motorists about traffic hazards, crashes and construction to keep commuters moving. To solve that communication gap the township implemented CivicPlus products—specifically the CivicEngage Alert Center and the CivicEngage MobileAdmin app—to deliver real-time notifications to residents and coordinate with emergency responders.

Using CivicPlus’s Alert Center (integrated with subscription channels like email and text) and the MobileAdmin app for issuing alerts on the go, Cranberry Township now reaches 2,230 traffic-alert subscribers and issues notifications at least weekly for incidents, planned work and accidents. The MobileAdmin app let staff create and send time-sensitive alerts in just a few steps while away from a computer (for example during an I‑79 crash), helping commuters choose alternate routes, reducing delays, and enabling multi-department use across public works, police, communications and other teams.
