City of Kirkland Implements CivicRec, Increases Online Enrollment 32%

The City of Kirkland Washington, a lakeside suburb of Seattle with about 80,000 residents, faced the imminent sunsetting of its parks and recreation software and needed a more robust, user-friendly system supported by responsive customer service. After issuing an RFP, the City selected CivicPlus and its CivicRec platform to replace the legacy system and better serve a growing population with a lean administrative staff.

CivicPlus implemented CivicRec via a phased soft launch (March 1) and full launch (March 16), enabling immediate account creation, integrated finance posting, online shelter rentals, digital waivers, and stronger vendor support. The result was a measurable 32% increase in online registrations on day one, faster financial reconciliation, and a four-month implementation that positioned the City of Kirkland Washington to expand self-service and automation across parks and recreation services.
