Youth development staff save 45 hours a week with better digital tool

The City of Greater Geelong’s Department of Youth Services faced slow, error-prone paper and Google Forms processes that limited staff engagement time and made it hard to segment and act on feedback. Working with Civica and adopting the Civica Involve Pulse app, the 20+ youth development staff needed a digital solution to streamline data capture, reduce duplication, and free up time to work directly with young people.

Civica implemented Involve with bespoke training, mobile user profiles, and real-time dashboards and analytics, enabling geographic filtering, trend identification, and shareable reports for council members. As a result, the team tripled productivity—from about two to six daily interactions—logged 42,000 interactions by December 2019, and saved 45 hours of staff time per week, allowing staff to focus on improved programs and decision-making.
