Wychavon District Council moves its finances to the cloud

Wychavon District Council, which had run Civica Financials on‑premise for 13 years, needed to move its finance system to the cloud to improve cybersecurity, resilience and remote working support while causing minimal disruption to users. The council worked with vendor Civica to plan a low‑impact migration that preserved existing processes and avoided extensive retraining.

Civica delivered the Civica Financials cloud solution after around six months of testing and a one‑day switchover in January 2023, giving users a seamless transition with only a new login link. The move improved security and resilience, simplified support and upgrades, enabled single sign‑on remote access for agile working, and cut debtor direct‑debit processing time by 80%, demonstrating clear operational and efficiency gains for Wychavon District Council.
