Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in North Wales was facing rising demand for diabetes care, with insulin visits forming a significant and time-critical part of community nursing workload. Supported by new Peer Coach Support Manager roles, the solution reduced the risk of missed insulin visits, enabled better workforce planning through capacity-and-demand data, freed senior staff to focus on complex cases, and delivered demonstrably better, safer care for patients with diabetes.
