St Andrews Links, Scotland’s Home of Golf, operates seven public courses with a permanent core of around 250 staff plus roughly 100 seasonal workers and annualised contracts that create large seasonal swings in hours and pay complexity. To replace paper timesheets and manage variable hours, St Andrews Links deployed Civica’s integrated HR, payroll and Time & Attendance solutions.

Civica implemented centralised time-and-attendance with proximity card clocking, integrated payroll and HR e-recruitment, plus absence tracking and management reporting to reconcile hours and costs. The Civica solution delivered greater transparency and payroll accuracy, reduced HR workload so payroll is handled by a full-time manager and a part-time staffer, and enabled a 40% seasonal workforce increase without extra resources.
