Staffordshire County Council transforms vehicle maintenance efficiency

Staffordshire County Council’s vehicle maintenance arm, Fleetcare, which looks after about 2,600 vehicles, needed to cut operational costs without reducing service levels. Workshop foremen were overloaded with paperwork and the organisation lacked timely, accurate data for decision-making, so Staffordshire County Council worked with Civica to adopt the Tranman fleet management solution.

Civica upgraded Tranman to introduce process automation, touchscreen-enabled technician terminals, job templates and integration with the council’s finance system, enabling paperless invoicing. The Civica solution delivered technician autonomy and faster job turnaround (around five minutes saved per job), a 50% drop in paper-based administration, improved profitability analysis and decision-making, and a six-month payback period.
