Case Study: Bromley Healthcare achieves automated scheduling and improved capacity management with Civica Scheduling (Malinko)

A Civica Case Study

Preview of the Bromley Healthcare Case Study

Removing manual scheduling from community teams to free up clinicians to focus on patient visits

Bromley Healthcare, whose community services teams make 150–200 visits a day with around 70 staff plus 20 agency staff, faced lengthy manual scheduling (about 10 hours/day of admin) that pulled senior clinicians away from training and complex patient visits. To address this, they piloted and rolled out Civica Scheduling (formerly Malinko) to integrate with their EMIS EPR, automate rostering and reduce manual scheduling across multiple services.

Using Civica Scheduling, Bromley Healthcare automated 80–90% of daily visits (including unplanned visits), achieved 100% allocation success for a blended Home Pathway team, and gained real‑time visibility of capacity and demand via mobile check‑in/check‑out data. The Civica solution reduced administrative burden, improved oversight of staff activity and skill mix, and enabled faster, more consistent scheduling while still allowing clinical sign-off and local control of implementation and training.
