North Canton cuts its report-processing time in half with Civica

The City of North Canton, Ohio (population ~17,500), needed to replace a 15‑year‑old client/server utility billing system to better manage billing and payments for trash, water and sewer services for more than 9,500 customers. After evaluating vendors on ease of use, total cost of ownership and feature set, the City selected Civica and its Authority Utility product to modernize its utility billing platform.

Civica implemented Authority Utility (an upgrade from the City’s previous Civica system) and provided customized onsite training, enabling faster adoption and streamlined workflows. As a result, the City now runs daily reports in less than half the time previously required, can create tailored reports for better decision‑making, has begun shifting manual processing to online payments, and is realizing tangible cost savings and reduced printing/postage thanks to Civica’s solution.
