Marine Learning Alliance College deliver degrees without internet with Agylia

MLA College, which trains maritime professionals with students in over 50 countries, needed a way to deliver up-to-date degree and CPD content to learners who are frequently offline while at sea. To solve this connectivity challenge they selected Civica’s Agylia Learning Management System and Agylia mobile learning App to provide a flexible, modern delivery channel for their programmes.

Civica implemented Agylia to give MLA College a branded, scalable app that lets students download content for offline use, tracks offline learning via an xAPI/LRS and synchronises progress when back online, and supports tutor-led Action Based Learning. The solution enabled rapid worldwide content updates, richer learner analytics, and improved mentoring, helping MLA College deliver degrees to seafarers without internet and win the gold award for Best Online Distance Learning Programme at the Learning Technologies Awards.
