IMarEST empowers professional development with the Agylia LMS

The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) faced the challenge of giving a globally distributed membership (in more than 120 countries) an efficient way to submit Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, access learning resources wherever they are, and comply with new random-sampling CPD monitoring requirements. IMarEST partnered with Civica to deliver a single professional-development platform, selecting the Agylia LMS (branded as IMarEST Echo) to combine CPD recording with targeted learning.

Civica implemented the Agylia LMS with Single Sign‑On, iOS/Android apps with offline access, and “action‑based learning” features that let members be tasked, upload evidence, and manage CPD records while administrators target and provision content. The result is a reliable, easy-to-use, paperless CPD and learning infrastructure that lets a small admin team support members across 120+ countries, streamlines CPD monitoring and review workflows, and improves access and engagement for members at sea and ashore.
