Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK with nearly £300m of annual income, faced a time‑consuming and risky invoicing process. Although already using Civica SLAM, the Trust spent significant effort exporting and manually manipulating data to produce invoice backing information and email commissioners, creating delays and reliance on individuals.
Civica delivered the SLAM Invoicing module to bring invoicing fully into SLAM, enabling bulk generation of backing data, automatic batch emailing and ledger exports. By working with Civica the Trust reduced processing from days to hours, saving 23 hours a month on backing‑data generation plus a further 8 hours on bulk invoicing (around 31 hours total), sped up payments, lowered operational risk and freed staff to focus on higher‑value tasks.
