A Civica Case Study

Preview of the Belfast City Council Case Study

Civica pilots smart technology in Belfast parks

Belfast City Council sought better insight into how residents and visitors use its parks and open spaces to improve safety, usage and visitor experience. Civica was one of five companies selected for the Council’s Smart Belfast programme to pilot solutions; its Belfast-based Innovation Team developed the ParkKeepr solution, built on Civica’s SensAI cloud software, to address the challenge.

Civica implemented a two-week pilot using IoT sensors in locations including Botanic Gardens to capture anonymous WiFi connection data and record footfall, flow and occupancy. Civica will deliver analysis and data reports from the trial to help the Council make better-informed decisions about park management, safety and visitor engagement, demonstrating how real-time flow and occupancy metrics can drive operational improvements.
