Activate Learning is an education group of seven colleges and seven schools across Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey and beyond, supporting more than 20,000 students and apprentices and over 2,000 academic and administrative staff. As the group grew through mergers and multi-site operations, it faced disparate learner data across different systems and needed a single Management Information System (MIS) that could hold, report on and provide easy access to accurate learner data—Civica REMS was chosen to meet that need.

Civica implemented REMS as a centralised MIS, consolidating data from newly acquired colleges, powering systems such as eILP, apprenticeship/e-portfolio, work experience and Microsoft 365 account management, and supporting multiple VLEs. The result was faster, more reliable reporting and decision-making, reduced duplicate data entry and human error, greater staffing flexibility, and measurable cost and resource savings—including a 50% reduction in timetabling administration—demonstrating Civica’s impact on Activate Learning’s efficiency and growth.
