USGA Partners with Webex to Keep the Ball Rolling

The U.S. Golf Association (USGA), organizer of the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open, faced an unprecedented challenge when the pandemic forced both championships to be held without spectators and with limited on-site staff, partners and media. They needed a way to keep fans, media and partners connected and maintain smooth operations with a much smaller crew.

Cisco partnered with the USGA to deploy Webex Meetings, Webex Events, Webex Devices plus Cisco Meraki access points and switches to deliver virtual connectivity across the tournaments. The solution enabled virtual media centers, broadcast integrations, interactive fan boards, “Champion Connect” sessions and reliable event Wi‑Fi, expanding remote fan engagement and creating new, lasting ways to experience live events.
