University of Camerino - Customer Case Study

The University of Camerino, a historic institution in Camerino, Italy serving about 8,000 students and 800 staff, was devastated by three earthquakes in October 2016 that shut many buildings and left roughly 2,000 students displaced. With campus access limited and existing e‑learning processes cumbersome, the university faced an urgent need to keep teaching running remotely.

Using Cisco Webex (Meetings and Devices), the university had law classes running remotely within three weeks and more than 1,000 displaced students regularly connecting to lessons. The quick shift not only restored continuity but also prompted a lasting move toward blended learning—recorded lessons and other e‑learning initiatives are now planned to let students learn at their own pace.
