Pirelli Opens Collaboration Opportunities for Improved Teamwork and Speed to Innovation, with Parallel Productivity Gains

Pirelli, a leading global tire maker with 38,000 employees, 22 production plants and a commercial presence in 160 countries, needed to improve collaboration to gain market share in the premium segment. Frequent international travel was slowing decision‑making, raising costs, and creating unproductive downtime, so the company set out to speed time to market and reduce travel-related inefficiencies.

Working with Cisco and Dimension Data, Pirelli implemented a refreshed enterprise network and a collaboration platform built on Cisco Unified Communications, TelePresence, video-enabled IP phones, WebEx virtual meeting rooms, wireless controllers and secure access controls. The rollout increased access to people and expertise, reduced travel time and expense, accelerated decisions and innovation, and boosted productivity—illustrated by real‑time remote support during motor racing events.
