Northland Pioneer College - Customer Case Study

Northland Pioneer College (NPC) is a rural community college serving Navajo and Apache counties in northern Arizona, covering a vast, sparsely populated area and more than 6,000 students. Serving one of the poorest and most remote districts, NPC faced trouble offering dual-enrollment college courses: Cibecue High School struggled to hire qualified instructors, many students lived one to two hours or more from campus, and enrollment was declining.

NPC implemented Cisco Webex video conferencing devices to deliver college classes to Cibecue High School and other remote sites affordably and effectively. The program expanded NPC’s reach to 16 area high schools, supports over 6,000 students in active distance learning, and enabled additional services like college advisement, career and financial planning, and tutoring—improving access to higher education and local economic opportunity.
