Instituto Zaldivar, founded in 1959 in Mendoza, Argentina, is a world-renowned ophthalmology center led by Dr. Roberto Zaldivar. With about 75% of patients traveling from outside Mendoza, the clinic faced long waits, repeated trips for follow-ups, and capacity limits even after opening a Buenos Aires branch.

To scale care and improve access, Instituto Zaldivar deployed Cisco TelePresence and WebEx (with Telefonica) to deliver HD video consultations, remote diagnostics, training, and hiring. The program enabled about 573 remote consultations per year, saved an estimated 500,000 km of patient travel annually, earned 100% “very good–excellent” patient ratings, and projects roughly 40% year-over-year growth and a fivefold service increase within five years with an ROI under three years.
