How the Amplifon Foundation drove 40% increase in well-being for nursing home residents with Webex technology

The Amplifon Foundation, a nonprofit focused on social inclusion for older adults, faced a major challenge during the pandemic as nursing home residents became isolated from family and community. Tablets and phones weren’t enough for many residents with physical or cognitive limitations, so the Foundation looked to Webex by Cisco and Cisco collaboration devices to create a more accessible way to restore meaningful human connection.

Webex by Cisco helped implement the Ciao! Project using Cisco Desk Pro and Cisco Room Kit devices with Webex, enabling simple, face-to-face video interactions and group experiences like yoga, concerts, virtual trips, and art therapy. The program expanded from 10 nursing homes in Milan to more than 250 facilities across Italy and beyond, and evaluation by Bocconi University showed a 40% improvement in residents’ overall well-being, with more than half of staff reporting higher motivation.
