Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland faced the challenge of connecting geographically dispersed campuses and supporting distance‑learning programs in Malaysia, India and China. Meetings were costly and inconvenient, the virtual learning environment required a separate sign‑in that created heavy administrative overhead, and these friction points limited technology adoption.

Edinburgh Napier deployed Cisco WebEx and a joint Cisco/CirQlive collaboration solution to provide single‑click access and a simpler sign‑on experience. As a result, monthly WebEx meetings grew from about 10 to over 50, users can schedule a semester of classes in a few clicks, administrative burden decreased, and security was strengthened.
