Deakin University leads the way on global learning conference with Cisco Collaboration technology

Deakin University led a two-year project to position itself as an Australian thought leader on Open Badges and digital learning. For the project’s first-year national forum it faced the challenge of bringing together local and international experts in a cost‑effective, blended format that connected multiple campus sites and virtual attendees while delivering high‑quality audio/video and hands‑on technical support.

Deakin used Cisco WebEx Event Center and a Cisco event producer to link host and satellite sites, manage streaming, interactive features (polls, annotation) and record sessions. The forum ran smoothly with more than 150 in‑person attendees and many more at satellite and virtual locations across Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US; participants praised the audio/visual quality and engagement, and recorded content was reused for ongoing learning and marketing.
