HM Insurance Group Streamlines Document Communications Processes

HM Insurance Group (HM) is a national provider of health risk solutions—including medical stop loss, managed-care reinsurance and workers’ compensation—that generates large volumes of customized communications for clients. Facing end-of-life support for its Windows Server 2003–based document system and a vendor that had stopped development, HM needed a replacement that would preserve Word-based templates, integrate with its Oracle database and internal systems (OPUS and billing), support complex data-driven logic and eliminate slow document-generation delays that disrupted daily workflows.

HM migrated to Cincom Eloquence, keeping editable Word templates with protected sections, enabling direct Oracle access, and integrating with OPUS and the billing system. The migration consolidated templates by 17% and cut document generation time from over two minutes to about 10 seconds (a >95% improvement), supporting roughly 13,000 documents per month (8,500 interactive, 4,700 batch). The intuitive interface, faster search/preview features, autorun triggers and ongoing Cincom support improved end-user productivity and simplified template maintenance and training.
