Security Health Plan, a regional insurer in Wisconsin and part of Marshfield Clinic Health System, serves more than 219,000 members with a centralized communications team supporting both digital and paper outreach. Their legacy, custom-built authoring system was cumbersome, required heavy IT involvement, and struggled to keep pace with increasing regulatory and compliance demands, prompting the search for an enterprise solution that would give business users ownership of content while enforcing workflows and controls.

They implemented Cincom Eloquence about five years ago, adopting reusable template “building blocks,” logic-driven content, and drag-and-drop authoring to streamline document creation and maintenance. Eloquence now produces nearly all member and provider communications—including about 25,000 EOBs weekly—allowed business users to create communications without IT help, redeployed one full-time developer to other projects, improved accuracy and processing (e.g., machine-readable billing statements), expanded usage across the health system, and earned consistently positive user feedback.
